Story:

Left of Joseph Statue

John became one of Jesus' closest companions, witnessing miraculous healings and hearing teachings that resonated deep within his soul. He was there at the Transfiguration, seeing Jesus enveloped in divine light, a moment that would forever illuminate his understanding of Christ's divinity. He also stood with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, though his weary eyes struggled to stay open during Jesus' agonizing prayer. Perhaps the most poignant moment for John, however, was at the foot of the cross. While most of the disciples had fled, John remained, a solitary figure with Mary, Jesus' mother. In his dying moments, Jesus entrusted his mother to John's care, a sacred duty he embraced with unwavering devotion. John's story is one of a fisherman transformed into a fervent follower, a beloved disciple, and a cornerstone of the early Church.
