Prayer:

O Blessed Saint Martha, friend and servant of our Savior, you welcomed Jesus into your home with love and care. Help us to serve Christ faithfully in our daily lives and extend hospitality to those around us. Grant us comfort in times of worry and difficulty. Strengthen our faith and trust in God's divine plan, even when it is not understood. Through your intercession, may we be filled with God's grace and persevere in love, to one day share in the banquet of eternal life.

About:

Martha and her siblings, Mary and Lazarus, lived in the village of Bethany. Their home was a frequent haven for Jesus and his disciples during their travels to and from Jerusalem. Martha, known for her hospitality and service, always ensured they were well taken care of. One day, while Jesus was visiting their home, Martha was busy with preparations while her sister Mary sat and listened to Jesus' teachings. Feeling overwhelmed, Martha asked Jesus to tell Mary to help her. Jesus gently responded, reminding Martha that while she was concerned with many things, Mary had chosen what was truly necessary – focusing on their relationship with God. Later, Martha's brother Lazarus became ill and died. When Jesus arrived, Martha expressed her belief that he could have prevented his death, and that Jesus could still do anything he asked of God. She also stated that she believed that Lazarus would rise again. Jesus then declared himself to be the resurrection and the life and asked Martha if she believed this. Martha affirmed her faith in him as the Messiah. Jesus then raised Lazarus from the dead. This miracle strengthened Martha's faith and served as a powerful testament to Jesus' divine power.
