Story:

Ignatius was a man captivated by the ideals of chivalry and courtly love. The Battle of Pamplona changed everything. A cannonball shattered his leg, and during his lengthy recovery, he found himself reading the lives of Christ and the saints. These texts ignited a fire within him, a desire to emulate their devotion and service. In solitary, he grappled with his past, confessed his sins, and began to develop the core of what would become his Spiritual Exercises - a method of prayer and reflection designed to help individuals discern God's will in their lives. He later studied at various universities, including Paris, where he gathered a group of like-minded companions who would eventually form the core of the Society of Jesus. In 1540, the Society of Jesus was officially approved by Pope Paul III. When he died, he left behind a legacy of faith, service, and intellectual depth that continues to inspire millions today.
