Prayer:
St. Thomas Aquinas, pray that all people may be open to learning, eager to seek the truth, and always strive to understand God's will. Intercede for all students and scholars, that they may be guided by the Holy Spirit in their studies and blessed with penetrating minds to understand, retentive memories to retain, and the ability to express themselves with clarity and charity.

Story:
St. Thomas Aquinas's life, also known as the "Angelic Doctor", was marked by a profound pursuit of knowledge and a dedication to reconciling faith with reason. He enrolled at the University of Naples and encountered the Dominican order. Inspired by their commitment to a life of preaching, teaching, and spiritual service, he joined the Dominicans. Thomas went to Paris where he studied under the renowned Dominican scholar, Albert the Great. Though initially quiet and appearing slow to some of his classmates, Albert recognized his brilliance, famously calling him a "dumb ox" who would one day make a bellowing that would be heard throughout the world.
Thomas went on to become a Master of Theology. His most famous works include the Summa Theologica and the Summa contra Gentiles. He championed the idea that faith and reason are complementary paths to truth, both originating from God and incapable of genuine conflict.
