Story:

Felicitas, a noble Roman woman and widow, resided in the Roman Empire during the 2nd century AD. Her deep faith and steadfast commitment to Christianity were well known. She instilled her values in her seven sons, teaching them to follow Christ's teachings and love God. During the harsh reign of Emperor Antoninus Pius, Christians faced severe persecution. Felicitas and her sons were arrested for their Christian faith, as it was illegal at the time. She was brought before Roman magistrates and ordered to renounce her beliefs. However, she refused. Her sons were also threatened, but they too refused to betray their faith and offer sacrifices to the Roman gods. Felicitas encouraged her sons to remain strong in their faith and face their impending martyrdom without fear, trusting in God's eternal reward. She was forced to watch as each of her sons suffered and died for their beliefs. After witnessing the death of all her sons, Felicitas herself was sentenced to death. She was beheaded about four months after her children's martyrdom, around 165 AD. Today, Saint Felicitas is revered as a patron saint of mothers and an inspiration for those seeking strength, particularly in relation to family life and raising children in the faith. She is also considered a patron saint of grieving parents and those struggling with infertility.
